The program for this project involves the construction of a 7,700 m²  arena, including two skating rinks, dressing rooms, office spaces, as well as fitness facilities, a youth centre, public areas and other community functions, including a library. The outdoor zone will cover approximately 860 m²  and will include a 25 m, six-lane swimming pool, a leisure pool, a wading pool and a rest area.

The Centre will not only have to provide the level of service desired by the community, but it must also integrate harmoniously to the urban fabric, to the surrounding, large green spaces and to the heritage context of many of the neighbouring buildings. The City of Westmount is aiming for an eventual LEED certification (basic or silver) for the project.
